Meet Bill Burke

Bill Burke has spent the majority of his career working in the financial services industry. In 2013, he founded Groundrush Financial, LLC, with a mission to help clients preserve their assets and generate a stable retirement income. Bill believes you must plan on living well until age 100. 


He has earned the following credentials:

  • Chartered Life Underwriter


Bill graduated from the University of California with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He is also a U.S. Army veteran and has great respect for those who dedicated their lives to serving and protecting our country. 


He is the proud father of three adult children: a detective, a musician and a small business owner, as well as the proud grandfather of four granddaughters. He volunteers as an Honor Guard for the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery.

  • What’s one of the most common mistakes made when saving for retirement?


    If I had to pick, one of the most common mistakes is simply not finishing the game. Retirement planning is like football; the first half is all about accumulation. Many get to half time and pat themselves on the back. But then, the IRS really comes out to play in the third and fourth quarter. This is where it can get tricky, and some of the most expensive mistakes happen as you go to actually take money out of your retirement accounts and leave it to your heirs. So many Americans are showing up to play this second half without a plan to hold on to their money.
